A somewhat biased view on China…
foneVillage is Beijing’s first mobile VIP Membership Community! So, how does it work?
You will first need to register. There is a free trial offer but I will concentrate on the normal way you register. You have to pay 200RMB to get 1200 foneVillage points, corresponding to 1200 RMB of Discount.
Then, if you go to one of the foneVillage venues, when you checkout, send an SMS with the venue’s code and the amount of the bill. foneVillage will immediately send you an SMS with your discount.

I don’t think the fonevillage thing works very well. My friend has it, and he told me that he received junk SMS from them all the time. Plus, it happened a couple time when he waited for more than 10mins for the reply. Bottom line: wasting time & money. Not recommanded.

i think fonevillage is a new SMS service with new technology in Beijing.(it needs to improve more to be honest)but sounds like cool ideas to bring human-based service to its customers. so i would like to try it then!

Michael, I’m sorry to hear that your friend has had a bad experience. Have you tried our service recently yourself? We’ve repaired (and continue to repair) issues such as these reported by our users.
We’d be happy to give both you and your friend free memberships for 1 year in return for your valuable feedback if you’d like to contact us at contact@foneVillage.com. We want happy members, and will do whatever it takes (including refunding your friend’s money, if he likes) to make that happen.
Best,
foneVillage

hehehe… Funny how this thread turns out to be a support forum for foneVillage.
Do I also get a free 1-year membership for advertising foneVillage?
