A somewhat biased view on China…
Lucianao Pavarotti is back in China for his Farewell Tour. At age 70, he decided to retire end of 2005, after a 44 years singing career. He was in Shanghai last Saturday and is now in Beijing for a few days.
Luciano Pavarotti’s first came to China in 1986 to stage Bohemian by Puccini. He also was here in 2001 with two top tenors - Placido Domingo and Jose Carreras - to stage a performance in the Forbidden City for Beijing’s bidding for the 2008 Olympic Games.
